Portraits in Motion…

Having worked with many dancers and their very different styles I was looking for a way to create a cohesive collection. Along with dancer Lisa LaMarre I experimented with different backgrounds and props until we found something we both liked. The gray background was neutral enough to highlight the dancers and the box offered the greatest opportunities for the dancers will still offering a uniting feature.

Those dancers invited to participate were told only about the box. What they chose to wear, how they would pose and with whom was up to them. The only caveat was that the box had to be in the images, somewhere. Therein was the creative challenge for the dancers, and their success is evident with every image.
